SO and LP

It is a disciplines-come-first college here. So when we, student nurses need to do anything, we got to abide Rules and Regulations, even when we want to go home.

So, we have this S/O and L/P. S/O stands for ‘Sleep-Out pass’ while L/P means LATE PASS. When we go back home to sleep, we apply S/O. S/O has a quota. We can only apply it twice a month. You may need to plan forward. So that you will know when u are going back home or hometown and when you need to send in your application. Maximum of S/O is 3 only, when there is festive season in the month. For example, this February, we are having New Year annual leave from 16-25/2. So, for this term, we apply a S/O. Plus 2 S/O we are permitted every month, altogether 3 S/O.

About L/P now. It is a simple thing to learn about it. We can apply L/P every weekend, mean 4. Whether to apply or not, it’s up to you. As a hostel residents, we need to be in hostel by 10pm. At 10pm every night, we’ll have Roll-Call monitor goes around to tick our name. When we are an L/P holder, we are permitted to late back till 11.30 pm. Since the gate is locked, we are supposed to report ourselves at the security room, write down our name and time in. Guard will open the gate for us. We need to report ourselves with Ms. Ong too. She is our housekeeper. (There are a few tutors and housekeepers who stay with us in hostel one. Our principal too. )

These are our rules and regulations. It’s just a part of it. The existence of rules and law are to take things under control. That’s why the legislation of law in all countries. So that people abide them and do the correct things only. For those who commit criminal should be filed of charges.
