Time flies~

Time flies, like arrows, like rockets, like light rays… My sem 2 has ended with Terminal Exam last few days. But haven’t complete completely without clinical practice a.k.a WORKING!!! *sigh*

My exam was at 3/11, and 5-7/11. It was started earlier, so that our Indian friend can go home earlier to celebrate Deepavali, without carrying the worries during holiday.

About the result, so far so good. Well, for last test, Test 2, we were just informed about our result. Happy that my roommate and me get the same position in our class! *haha* Therefore, no 2nd this time. *giggle*

Prior to exam, I could hardly study long time. It was during the revision week, I tried hard to stay up late, basically as late as I could. It’s real hard, some more I was having URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) with unproductive cough. The cough was irritating. Doctor prescribed me Rhinathiol with Promethazine. No doubt, I took once and that’s it. The Promethazine in it has hypnotise effect. How can I sleep when everyone was STUDYING, K-book???!!! (Thus, my cough took 2 weeks plus to recover.)

The worst thing happened was…*sigh* I was HYPERSOMNIA during the revision week. I was very well-done in class. But at the evening, I could sleep so, so, so long. As if taking barbiturates or Valium, Dormicum… I slept like pig. Having hard time to study during critical period is a torture, having to see my room mate’s study progress is another pressure.

As I always said, learning, sitting in class is the most pleasurable thing to do; because you will never know how does it feels like to be a nurse/ student nurse (currently). Tired, stress, leg pain, backache, pressure… Sometimes, to the extent of I might regret about it.

I managed to get my studies done, studied crazily, CONSISTENTLY throughout the day, listen attentively to all the tips and hints the tutors might reveal.

Living days and nights with loads of notes is tough and torture of my life! Studied till late night, getting up early, to eat good breakfast then lined up for exam… this time of exam, I had joined my friends’ study group. It was fun as we were like giving each other the accountability and teaching, helping each others…

I could hardly understand why stress increases the desire to eat. Perhaps ADH does its works. Dear fellow and friends…I EAT a lot… *keke*

JARS OF CLAY LYRICS"Love Song For A Savior

"In open fields of wild flowers,
she breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daises and the rosesin no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and she'll pray,
"I want to fall in love with You"
Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people who stare into nowhere,
and can't feel the chains on their souls
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and we'll pray,
"I want to fall in love with You"
It seems too easy to call you "Savior",
Not close enough to call you "God"
So as I sit and think of words I can mentionto show my devotion
"I want to fall in love with You"
"my heart beats for You"

emo writing...

A very good morning, to myself as I’m writing this (offline) at 0924 18/10/07
I just came back from a MSQH Accreditation Awareness talk by Dr. Loke, a very handsome, hilarious speaker. In fact I saw he went to the ward at night, wearing t-shirt, to see his patient(s). To those people who are studying Medicine, or being a houseman now, make sure you can sacrifice your time to do so even in the middle of the night. Got one time, I saw one doctor wear a ¾ pants went back to ward to see patient. Initially, I thought what happened to THAT UNCLE, wondering whether patient’s relative, wanting to complain anything… to my shock… *giggle*
Well, I’m not sure what my title should be, haven’t have any idea. Just typing/ writing for the sake of ‘Feeling-want-to’.
Last night, someone sent me a very sweet piece of text. I saw it this morning as I have slept that time.
“Dear Shan, I believe that God made me meet you back after 3 years is certainly for a very good reason, especially when He give me such a strong CHEMICAL REACTION (must be helium + H2O!!!) towards you. No matter how you think we are very different, I’m not going to give up ‘cause you gave me the license not to give up. I’ll give you the encouragement and confirmation that you need towards our current state.”
First of all, I wrote it here because I want this message to be kept fresh and remembered (by me)! Second of all, well, to let the sender know that he is much appreciated by me, currently as a friend, regardless what relationship would be in future. This particular sender will remain anonymous until…

I always ask myself, am I suitable for BGR? Am I mature enough? I mean, even when I’m 40, I would still ask this, am I mature? Not of age, but in terms of attitude of mind. However, just cross your fingers that people will change as the years go by, mind will be changed, and characters will be shaped and renewed. As the old saying goes, the unchanged fact of life is people are ever changing. Am I in love? I’m not sure. I’m just having the feeling, but I don’t have the impulse, the aggressiveness to leave my singleness. Being single is really enjoy as it’s so care-free, so COOL, relax, and you can be self-centered in your life ‘cause your decisions, your behaviours, your life, your way of life, styles, fashion senses, eating habit( and etc.) are not bonded to anyone else’s emotions. But, then, we are all gifted with the feeling of love and being loved. We love and being loved as well. ‘Papa, mummy love me, and I love them too…’
I have so many worries in me. As years go by, as I’m turning 20 next year (sad case), I learn to think more, further, deeper and critical. Chronic problems are much more difficult to handle. Worries, often due to lack of confidence, to myself, to God (in this type of BGR thing) and to the so-called Chosen one…
When I talked with my ex, I found that last time all those feelings are so simple, come on, basically we didn’t worry a lot, besides trying to go out together, go where to play, worry what to give at certain days…that’s it. 16 is the sweetest moment, when everything seems so BEAUTIFUL, which people call form-4 a honeymoon year. (No wonder I’m so regret ‘cause I didn’t try my best to study harder, even in form-3!!!!)
When someone said I’m how good, how great, blah-blah-blah, I usually don’t believe because I know who am I. Hey, c’mon, I’m materialistic, ok? But the best part is, I don’t rely on guys like some other girls do, to get what I want. I get what I want which are within my capability. I don’t dream of having a car when I only getting RM 550/ month. I normally spend money on shopping and hang out with friends, go makan here and there, pay to watch movie at GSC. I’m materialistic, I have a lot of bags/ handbags even I study and seldom go out, I have more than 10 bags here, haven’t count those left at home. Shoes…around 5 pairs here. Clothes, blouses, pants, tees…are uncountable, yet countable if you are free.
*****Dear future-husband, please spare a room for me to keep my things and renovate it into a dressing room for me! I want a ceiling-to-floor cabinet, preferably open-concept or transparent one, with many racks, many compartments…
Ok la, it’s funny, I know. I’m making fun out of my…true-colour! Never mind la, doesn’t matter. Who know, someone will need this to re-evaluate himself (his ‘gut’!) before taking any action. *giggle*
Happy reading~~~ ``(^o^)``

Timely Words

“A man finds joy in giving an apt reply-
and how good is a timely word!”
“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”

PROVERBS 15:23

It’s a wonderful experience to get me back to alert and renew my mind. Apt words are helpful and make me see things in a different view, with broader boundary of hopes and prospects. How great is the God~
“Words are like that. They are powerful instruments for good or for ill…” adapted from Daily bread October 16.

Judging
A friend shared with me a quotation he once browsed through…
“do the best for God, and assume everyone does the same.”
You know, in this world, we often judge people easily. Criticizing people wearing in a we-think-inappropriate way, condemning those guys out there piercing the ears or wherever they can, gossiping people’s bf/gf and/or those who are in a relationship, feeling unfair because someone whom you think not-that-better-than-yourself just had got #1… (Endless list, you can name it!)
I’m saying this, not because I don’t do this or I don’t gossip/ condemn/ ‘kepo’/ judge/ criticize, just because I DO! I always do. Tongues are such a powerful, small fleshy muscle in our bodies. In human, the distinct function is for SPEECH! In Proverbs 15: 4 says, the tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up…that it may benefits those who listen.” says Ephesians 4:29
Talking is an ‘uncontrollable’ act. And saying the most not-beneficial/ unwholesome stuffs is an ABC job. Or better known as C-R-A-P, crap-ology~

Think BIG, start/ do SMALL
“I want to help the mankind.”
It is the noblest, kind, passionate, easiest-to-say reason for those who chose ambition such as doctor and nurse.
It may sound harsh; no doubt, there might be people who seriously want to HELP. But pause and think for a while, do we forget those who ask for a donation while walking on a busy road, those who are rendering a campaign to save those in needs…?
Personally, I do not like to stop and give as little as RM 0.20 for a beggar. Reasons are: they have limbs, they may be monopolized by some syndicates, something like gangster…and I fear that someone will rob me from behind when I take out my purse… Ya, for a long time I never give out my money for those people. But what? I’m studying this NOBLE course, proclaiming NOBLE mission~ *sigh*
What’s more? Going to the old folks home for an hour when I’m assigned to, to serve food (as waitress), and I find it futile, boring, feeling lazy to do so ‘cause it’s 4.30pm after class has finish. That’s my true colour~ *speechless*
Like my friend said, many are waiting for a perfect condition, perfect time, perfect organization to help people with true needs! Some even waiting for a perfect call to their hearts or in layman term, a touch! The lesson here is, you can think big, but you need to start doing small things. Be faithful to big and small things!
My friend’s word just hit my mind. For all this time, I feel like so lost-contact with serving in a ministry. My friend asked,
“Do you know how to stack chairs?”
And it really shocks me, that am why I said, in the first paragraph, apt word in time. It makes me realize that I can serve, in whatever place, whichever field. If I continue think in that way, I may end up forever doing nothing. Yes, we can think big, we can continue to think of going overseas, joining mission trip, whatever, but we can plant the seed, start from where we are now. Let the spirit be cultivated.
I’m very thankful to the friend and of course, God who touches my heart, open up my mind. Actually, if it wouldn’t be God’s will, will my friend happen to ask me out for a chit-chat, offer me a ride?
