Timely Words

“A man finds joy in giving an apt reply-
and how good is a timely word!”
“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”

PROVERBS 15:23

It’s a wonderful experience to get me back to alert and renew my mind. Apt words are helpful and make me see things in a different view, with broader boundary of hopes and prospects. How great is the God~
“Words are like that. They are powerful instruments for good or for ill…” adapted from Daily bread October 16.

Judging
A friend shared with me a quotation he once browsed through…
“do the best for God, and assume everyone does the same.”
You know, in this world, we often judge people easily. Criticizing people wearing in a we-think-inappropriate way, condemning those guys out there piercing the ears or wherever they can, gossiping people’s bf/gf and/or those who are in a relationship, feeling unfair because someone whom you think not-that-better-than-yourself just had got #1… (Endless list, you can name it!)
I’m saying this, not because I don’t do this or I don’t gossip/ condemn/ ‘kepo’/ judge/ criticize, just because I DO! I always do. Tongues are such a powerful, small fleshy muscle in our bodies. In human, the distinct function is for SPEECH! In Proverbs 15: 4 says, the tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up…that it may benefits those who listen.” says Ephesians 4:29
Talking is an ‘uncontrollable’ act. And saying the most not-beneficial/ unwholesome stuffs is an ABC job. Or better known as C-R-A-P, crap-ology~

Think BIG, start/ do SMALL
“I want to help the mankind.”
It is the noblest, kind, passionate, easiest-to-say reason for those who chose ambition such as doctor and nurse.
It may sound harsh; no doubt, there might be people who seriously want to HELP. But pause and think for a while, do we forget those who ask for a donation while walking on a busy road, those who are rendering a campaign to save those in needs…?
Personally, I do not like to stop and give as little as RM 0.20 for a beggar. Reasons are: they have limbs, they may be monopolized by some syndicates, something like gangster…and I fear that someone will rob me from behind when I take out my purse… Ya, for a long time I never give out my money for those people. But what? I’m studying this NOBLE course, proclaiming NOBLE mission~ *sigh*
What’s more? Going to the old folks home for an hour when I’m assigned to, to serve food (as waitress), and I find it futile, boring, feeling lazy to do so ‘cause it’s 4.30pm after class has finish. That’s my true colour~ *speechless*
Like my friend said, many are waiting for a perfect condition, perfect time, perfect organization to help people with true needs! Some even waiting for a perfect call to their hearts or in layman term, a touch! The lesson here is, you can think big, but you need to start doing small things. Be faithful to big and small things!
My friend’s word just hit my mind. For all this time, I feel like so lost-contact with serving in a ministry. My friend asked,
“Do you know how to stack chairs?”
And it really shocks me, that am why I said, in the first paragraph, apt word in time. It makes me realize that I can serve, in whatever place, whichever field. If I continue think in that way, I may end up forever doing nothing. Yes, we can think big, we can continue to think of going overseas, joining mission trip, whatever, but we can plant the seed, start from where we are now. Let the spirit be cultivated.
I’m very thankful to the friend and of course, God who touches my heart, open up my mind. Actually, if it wouldn’t be God’s will, will my friend happen to ask me out for a chit-chat, offer me a ride?

If you open up yourself(heart),there is actually a lot of things to be learn and a lot of ways where you can bless others.Need not need to find someone for you to bless.Just open your heart and you can realize that there are many surrounding you.God not only want you to bless others in cash, but He wants you to bless others in His Words, act and time.

Something came to my mind yesterday. When was the last time that I convert a non-believer to know CHRIST?

God bless
