New Year is COMING

As everyone know, it’s holiday season, moment for family gathering, reunion, time for happy family time. It’s Chinese New Year, year of mouse (of Mickey and Minnie~~)haha…… Wow, piggy’s year has waved us goodbye.
Well, honestly, as I grown up year by year, time after time, I could hardly feel the CNY spirit. I don’t have the MOOOOOD, indeed. Even before I came back, I didn’t have the joyfulness or happiness for coming back for CNY. I was simply happy and relief as finally I can call the tiring Clinical Practice an end. As simple as that. And my friend thought so too. See, my initial passion for my work/career has faded away day by day……最初的感动。。。好像都没了。好可怜。。。
Crackles, ang ang décor, shopping for new outfits-from head to toe (as red as possible??!!), preparing the food for reunion lunch/ dinner (tuan yuan fan), line up in the long, long queue just to PAY the hypermarket OUR $$$-trading for canned food, snacks, kuih-muih (to treat your home-coming guests in family-sized?!)…see, the list is never end and all share the same similarity! Need $$$$$, thus our parents always HOPE for GOOOOOOOD BONUS--FAR HUNG~~~

Decorate and cleaning- No, I didn’t join. When I reached home, the same 2 big tanglung have already hanging there.

Shopping?!- No, no, don’t doubt about my craze for shopping. It’s still my favourite. But this year, I am so not keen to shop, purposely for the season. So lazy~ but I did buy a little bit. I slept for 5 hours only then went shopping after my last day of work arhhh!! See my sacrifice?? Keke… *pai-se pai-se** I didn’t buy ang- ang or bright yellow “ong-ong”. I bought all dark! It’s ME, MY style-never force myself to follow the norms…… Well, OK, sounds rebellious and so not-traditional huh? =p BLUEK~~~~~ Well, I just bought some blouses, a vest, and a knit jacket only. Shoes, I have it, bought for annual dinner eh…Pants/ bottoms, needless to buy. 1 pair of good jeans can bring me to all occasions, guys! I brought home my skirt as well, so that I can pair it with my high! (No, no, I didn’t mean to show off. No, No, I didn’t mean to~~ ;> )

Groceries purchase- Yeah, I put my body and feet in this. Papa saw the flier and we went to TESCO and bought a lot of raw food such as mushrooms++, sayur, abalones and scallop for steamboat in the afternoon. My family has already bought whatever needed earlier. Shandy-ies, wines, grape juices, kuih-muih…semua dah ada. Some more got 24 cans of LONGAN…I don’t understand why we need so much!? Longan will constipate me lar… =(

Nowadays, businessmen have commercialized this pathetic festive season. Especially with those entirely funny-name menus for reunion dinner in restaurants and hotels… I’m telling you that money can bring you a table of eight coursed meal. This year, for my first time I am eating outside with my family, besides the steamboat in the afternoon. The night time dinner is costing RM 428 for 10 in a hall. And our family is going to celebrate the reunion together under one roof with the other 70 families. I couldn’t imagine now until I attend (tonight). It’s organized by Anggerik Restaurant a.k.a my uncle’s, also where my mom works at.

See, people happily eating, my mom and her group of aunty-status colleagues need to work; the chef and his team of man need to work hard with the fire, satisfying their customers’ taste buds! Nowadays, customers are susah dilayan. I know this. My mom told me this. Customers want more, asking for more and more as they have paid a value, so they think they would deserve a return of same or higher value services!
