Done!

Finally, the scary Practical Exam! It's a sole subject, man...
Need to study every procedure from Sem 1 till now, depending on examiners what they want you to prepare. Each one 2 procedure in medical and surgical. Major and minor.
All I got were simple thing, simple topic, not that major for majors. Were tray procedures.
On medical side, i got:
- administering metered-dose inhaler
- intake&output chart

Surgical side:
- stump bandage
- cleaning newborn baby's cord

At Surgical side, I was doing real panicky and silly. The bandage, I couldn't get it done nicely even I was given 3 chances. The pattern of bandage was so...hmmm...abnormal. Cord cleaning- I was in great doubt, can use bare hand? can I touch the swab? Oh my, I'm gonna touch it, serious? Am I right? I am touching, touching...* right hand is moving towards to reach a cotton swab* When I touched it, "Oh gosh, she didn't say anything! Did she don't want to tell me I am wrong and violated greatest aseptic principle." "Issh, my mind was blank." I couldn't refresh back what did I do when I was in Nursery.
" Do it now! Now."
*I was still pausing*
"Don't think. Do now. Think back how you do it in Nursery"
*still trying hard to think*

I picked the correct set. Inside without any forceps. So I guess I am right. Use hands then.

"What you do next, after handwashing?"
in my heart, "squeeze the swabs and start cleaning?!"
" Haiyo...XX XXXX..."

*"cham cham, such a bad impression"

Suddenly I saw something at the corner.

*open up a tissue, dab dry my hands*

Palpitation. need Digoxin.

I said, I washed my hands. I put the swab inside the lil tray, Oh, solution. Ok, bend down and get the solution. "One drop will do", examiner said. I was panicky. I touch my hair, unconsciously. Tried to slip them behind my ears.
" Yes, XX XXXX (my name), you washed your hands and now you touch here, touch there..."
I said,
"Oh, I now wash my hands again." *faint*

Never in my real situations, I perform anything stupidly.
I made my final conclusion. I dislike (no hatred, pls~) this kind of practical exam!

When comes to using the inhaler, I told the examiner that need to shake it before use for equal distribution of contents.
When I was 'acting' to teach the 'patient', the examiner said,
" Yes, so you don't need to shake it, is it?"
Me to "patient" : *giggle* "Oh ya ya, you need to shake it har. Like this. *demonstrating, shaking the inhaler up and down*
( Then examiner looked at her clipboard and writing down something.)

I did this to real patients before. I taught the patient very relaxingly and stress-free. I gave them all necessary information. But, I hate myself when stumbling and panicking, tensed-up in exam.

That's it.

Case study presentation on Saturday. Not yet practise and held a meeting with my members yet. I am...
*speechless*
